About the Role

This newly created role will be an integral part of the Risk and Compliance team and offers a breadth of exposure to regulatory activities, a great place to bring your skills and rapidly develop your knowledge and understanding of working in a fast-paced environment.
You will be joining a small group of dedicated compliance and risk professionals who work closely and collaboratively in providing guidance, advice, support and monitoring. You will be part of an enthusiastic team that provides assurance to management on its regulated activities, working on some exciting projects that helps us to deliver good customer outcomes.
Personal skills and experience
- 2+ years’ experience in regulatory role, Consumer Credit and/or Insurance background would be advantageous
- Demonstrable experience of working within FCA rules and guidance
- Understanding of the FCA Consumer Duty and implementation activities for regulated firms
- Previous oversight of or an understanding of Principal Firms and Appointed Representatives (ARs) would be advantageous
- Understanding of Data Protection principles would be beneficial
- Providing simple advisory support and guidance to the wider team and ARs directly
- Demonstrable experience of working with all Microsoft tools, especially Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills, and the ability to prioritise effectively
- Great attention to detail
- Policy, procedures and report writing skills
- The ability to gather, analyse and understand data, providing summaries and reports to management
- Great interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders of all levels, internal and external
- Self-motivated with ability to work remotely with occasional visits to our Head Office in Gloucester
Tasks:
- Assist with collating information for relevant Risk and Compliance reporting papers, covering the Consumer Duty and Improving the AR Regime requirements
- Provide reliable information, analysis and guidance to the Compliance team in support of day-to-day activities.
- Assist the Compliance team in arranging regular and ad hoc meetings, minute taking and actions progression logging, including follow-up activities.
- Monitoring, assessing and completing internal tasks in relation to the Consumer Duty, helping to demonstrate good customer outcomes monitoring and reporting to management.
- Maintain a master list of Product Providers, confirming status of due diligence and onboarding, escalating any issues or risks to management for review
- Analyse and summarise monthly MI reports from Appointed Representatives, Product Providers, providing status updates and recommendations to management
- Ownership of the Compliance team’s monitoring and assurance logs and record keeping
- Contributing to the development and execution of the Compliance Monitoring Plan and monitoring activities
- Assist in establishing new processes and procedures for continual improvement
- Analysing large sets of data to understand and assess risks identified
- Conducting QA activities for monitoring and oversight of ARs file reviews, end to end customer journey reviews, call listening
- Provide support to various members of the team, getting involved in ad hoc tasks and projects
- Assist the Risk and Compliance team and the wider company as requested.
