Role Overview

This hybrid role is ideally suited to experienced motor trade professionals such as Senior Sales Executives, Business Managers, or Sales Managers. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of dealerships, supporting them with FCA compliance, training, and regulatory oversight.

You will work primarily from home, managing your own diary and liaising directly with clients to schedule on-site audits and reviews.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance audits and reviews at client dealerships
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and oversight of assigned dealerships
  • Deliver FCA compliance training to dealership staff
  • Support clients with system usage, regulatory updates, and best practice
  • Occasionally conduct onboarding and system training for new clients
  • Communicate effectively with staff at all levels, from sales executives to directors

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a retail motor dealership operating under FCA regulation
  • Background in showroom-based roles (sales or management) is essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident presenting to all levels of seniority
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage field-based responsibilities, including occasional overnight stays

Tasks:

  • Assist with collating information for relevant Risk and Compliance reporting papers, covering the Consumer Duty and Improving the AR Regime requirements
  • Provide reliable information, analysis and guidance to the Compliance team in support of day-to-day activities.
  • Assist the Compliance team in arranging regular and ad hoc meetings, minute taking and actions progression logging, including follow-up activities.
  • Monitoring, assessing and completing internal tasks in relation to the Consumer Duty, helping to demonstrate good customer outcomes monitoring and reporting to management.
  • Maintain a master list of Product Providers, confirming status of due diligence and onboarding, escalating any issues or risks to management for review
  • Analyse and summarise monthly MI reports from Appointed Representatives, Product Providers, providing status updates and recommendations to management
  • Ownership of the Compliance team’s monitoring and assurance logs and record keeping
  • Contributing to the development and execution of the Compliance Monitoring Plan and monitoring activities
  • Assist in establishing new processes and procedures for continual improvement
  • Analysing large sets of data to understand and assess risks identified
  • Conducting QA activities for monitoring and oversight of ARs file reviews, end to end customer journey reviews, call listening
  • Provide support to various members of the team, getting involved in ad hoc tasks and projects
  • Assist the Risk and Compliance team and the wider company as requested.

Your role: 

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulates the Financial Services industry. Its role includes protecting consumers, keeping the industry stable and promoting healthy competition between financial services providers.

The role of the Financial Promotions Associate is to support and work alongside the Lead Financial Promotions Associate carrying out Financial Promotions website and social media reviews. You will be reviewing the websites and social media content of our Appointed Representative (AR) Clients to ensure they meet the regulator’s (FCA) rules and guidance and offer advice/guidance to keep their online activity compliant.

Role Responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking financial promotions reviews of Websites and Social Media for our Appointed Representatives to ensure they meet The FCA’s Financial Promotions rules and guidance.
  • Responsibility for ongoing monitoring of social media and advertisements for our Appointed Representative network of Motor Dealers.
  • Assisting with the advice on Financial Promotions enquiries, administration, and Management Information.
  • Liaising with clients via telephone, email and virtual meetings.
  • Data analysis, for Root Causes and marketing trends.

  • Assisting with compilation of data for FCA GABRIEL complaints reporting.
  • Handling and resolving Customer Complaints both directly and via FOS, by telephone, email and video calling.
  • Communicating outcomes, analysis, trends and root cause analysis of complaints activities to Board and ExCo.
  • Ordering and keeping a stock of FOS leaflets
  • Liaising with all business areas, becoming the main point of contact for all Complaint enquiries
  • Keep up to date with relevant regulations, guidance and best practice in financial services industry to ensure that our complaints processes align with requirements
  • Compiling data for presentation monthly to the Board of directors.

 

Skill requirements:

  • Knowledge of the FCA’s DISP Handbook and complaints handling processes and procedures would be great to see, along with experience of dealing with FOS.
  • Demonstrate a good knowledge of using Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint.
  • Ability to communicate with retail customers and our growing Appointed representative network of Automotive Dealerships via telephone, e-mail and video calling (MS Teams)
  • Data analysis and compiling reports for leadership team.

We are looking for a Learning and Development (L&D) Manager to support the Head of Learning and Development in helping our clients advance their skills and knowledge with regards to compliance.

It is essential that you are from a Motor Trade management background as this is an ideal role in which to share your current/past experiences whilst developing new skills.

This is a Hybrid role where after initial training there will be a mix of Home, Office (In Gloucester) and onsite dealer visits.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate clients individual and organisational development needs
  • Deliver an exceptional learning and development onboarding experience for clients
  • Introduce a “blended” learning approach
  • Amend, update and write new E-Learning modules as and when required
  • Obtain client feedback on the training that is delivered with a view to continuously improving
  • Facilitate any compliance system changes that may be required and check they are correct
  • Test new compliance systems that are built before any client launch and liaise with IT to correct any errors
  • Ensure that clients E-Learning is up to date
  • Be the point of contact for newly onboarded dealers and deliver an excellent customer service experience

Requirements

  • Extensive automotive experience and knowledge of working in a showroom environment
  • Proven experience as an L&D Manager, Training Manager or similar
  • A willingness to learn, have an open mind and the ability to share your views
  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods
  • Experience in delivering exceptional training sessions face to face, via Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • An excellent communicator who can quickly establish credibility with both clients and colleagues
  • Experience of working in a fast – paced environment
  • Have the ability and resilience to adapt to changing requirements whilst maintaining a quality and customer focused service.

Job brief

Your duties will be primarily operating from home and you will be expected to liaise with clients to arrange appointments to carry out reviews / audits on compliance with FCA regulations.

You will be responsible for the monitoring and oversight of an allocation of motor vehicle retailers, communicating with dealers in all aspects of their FCA Compliance, system requirements, staff training and keeping them up to date with any updated regulation and changes, in addition to providing system and compliance training and the occasional requirement to carry out and complete new client installation training.

“We speak the dealer’s language and understand their problems and needs”.

Requirements

Motor dealer experience and knowledge of working in a showroom environment is essential. With a minimum of 5 years experience of working in a retail motor dealership under FCA Regulation.

Excellent communication skills with the ability and confidence to present at all levels, from sales executive to director level.

Proficient in MS office with reasonable Excel ability.
